According to a report by Business Insider, Google has taken legal action by filing a civil lawsuit in a New York federal court against the two developers responsible for the fraudulent apps. These developers, hailing from Shenzhen, China, and Hong Kong, allegedly orchestrated a scheme to exploit unsuspecting users by offering seemingly legitimate cryptocurrency exchanges and investment apps.

The scam operated by enticing victims through various promotional tactics to invest money via the fraudulent apps. However, once funds were deposited, users encountered significant hurdles in withdrawing their funds, irrespective of whether they made any profits or not.
