“This is a one-of-a-kind business, let me assure you,” Nancy Conway said about the new cryptocurrency education center, e-space and community center in Brentwood. As VP of community relations at Williamson Inc, Conway has seen her fair share of innovative businesses, but she said the Nashville branch of Bitcoin Ben’s Crypto Club is something else.
As owners of just the second Bitcoin Ben location, Todd and Janet Gatewood celebrated their accomplishment with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Williamson Inc.
“This has been a long process — my first into entrepreneurship,” Todd Gatewood said. “I just felt a need to jump into this space so we could help educate people into crypto, Bitcoin, things like that.”
The multi-use space currently operates through memberships and offers online and in-person education in Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency, Blackchain and Web 3 and venture capital opportunities while the physical space boasts flexible work areas, conference rooms, an event space, a podcast room, a coffee bar and a Bitcoin ATM.
“The whole of Bitcoin and crypto we discovered about two years ago and it’s intimidating to a lot of people,” Janet Gatewood said. “Bitcoin Ben wants everyone to have the opportunity to see this new digital asset and understand what it is and have a chance at that generational wealth.”
While Bitcoin Ben has plans to open crypto clubs around the world eventually, the Gatewood’s location will remain unique because of their mission.
“We’re very business focused and community focused,” Janet said. “We are very passionate about people.”
The couple has worked to make the space feel welcoming and comfortable to anyone entering it — regardless of their knowledge of cryptocurrency — and they hope to continue supporting the community through their programs and spaces.
Janet Gatewood said when she first saw how cryptocurrency could improve a business’ financial security, she knew they had to spread the word.
“I realized this is where we need to be and this is our future and there’s a lot of people we need to teach,” she said.
As the Gatewoods bring education and support to the Williamson County community through Bitcoin Ben’s Crypto Club, they hope to have the same impact on their members as their cryptocurrency education had on them.
