Binance Founder Changpeng Zhao Warns Crypto Community Against Deepfake Videos on the Rise
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao recently took to X to warn his followers about fake videos that have been circulating online. The videos appear to show him promoting a variety of different cryptocurrencies. He explained that he has no relationship with those coins and asked users to be more cautious against such impersonation fraud.
Zhao emphasized how these deep fakes are misleading and part of a greater scheme to dupe investors and discredit key figures in crypto. He encouraged everyone to be suspicious, adding that one needs to verify all information received regarding financial transactions in the market from reliable sources.
“There are deepfake videos of me on other social media platforms. Please beware!” Zhao wrote.

AI-generated fake content is an increasingly growing concern in the cryptocurrency space. Many scammers are now leveraging their AI technology to create realistic videos of high-profile figures, such as Zhao and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, both of whom have appeared in fraudulent videos.
